Ripple Clarity: CTO Offers Insights on Tron Founder’s Employment Tale

David “JoelKatz” Schwartz, the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Ripple Labs, has offered an interesting commentary on the narrative regarding Tron founder Justin Sun working for the company years ago.

Justin Sun Is Commended By The CTO Of Ripple

In a recent development on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Justin Sun talked about his early years working for Ripple. He underlined how his time there paved the way for his next forays in the cryptocurrency industry.

The revelation from the Tron founder has caused quite a frenzy within the crypto space. Sun had started working toward developing the TRON ecosystem with his departure from Ripple, which was a turning point that had a huge impact on the blockchain industry.

Tron network is one of the most popular and highly regarded blockchains in the world. The network ranks 12 in the entire crypto market in terms of market capitalization.

Responding to Sun’s post, Schwartz acknowledged Sun’s impact during his time with Ripple, noting that the firm “misses” him. Additionally, he stated that the Tron founder could have accomplished a great deal at the payment firm “if he had stayed.”

Interestingly, Schwartz’s remarks toward the end may have been intended as irony, suggesting that Sun had attained a lot since he left. However, it also entails the Ripple CTO might be filling the Tron founder in on the opportunities and collaboration he has missed after leaving the company.

Nonetheless, Justin Sun, responding to Schwartz’s comment, honored his then-associate while reaffirming the possibility of future successes and partnerships between the two organizations.

“We will definitely have the opportunity to achieve great things in the future,” he stated. However, Ripple and Tron do not currently appear to be working in tandem.

Justin Sun And Ethereum Co-Founder Sought Jobs At The Firm

Sun’s story also revealed a shocking tale about Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin. According to the Tron founder, he applied for jobs at Ripple Labs, along with Vitalik Buterin.

However, Sun was successful and worked for the firm for 2 years, while Buterin was not. Sun further stated that Buterin was unable to obtain an internship position at the company due to visa concerns.

The post read:

Reflecting on history is quite fascinating. Both Vitalik Buterin and I have had interactions with Ripple. Interestingly, I managed to secure a job at Ripple and worked there for quite a long time, while Vitalik ultimately did not participate in Ripple’s internship due to visa issues.

Buterin may have failed to secure a job, but his unsuccessful attempt eventually resulted in his role in the establishment of Ethereum in 2013.

While Justin Sun did not highlight a timeframe for the event, the development of the crypto landscape provides some indications. Given that Ripple was introduced in 2012, it suggests that the event must have taken place between 2012 and 2013 before Ethereum was founded.
